Nurses should have graduated from an accredited nursing education program and licensed as a Registered Nurse in their home country.
Nurses need to demonstrate the requisite level of English language proficiency.
Nurses need to have a professional license in order to practice nursing in the State they plan to work in. As such, they will need to pass a licensure exam, the NCLEX-RN. Different States have differing requirements for candidates applying to take the examination.
Some States require the CGFNS Credentials Evaluation Service Professional Report® to ensure that nurses’ documents are authentic and what nurses have learned is comparable to U.S. nursing standards. Other States may require the CGFNS Certification Program® as a criterion to be deemed eligible to take the NCLEX-RN.
While it’s not required, nurses may choose to work with a nursing recruiter to help them find a job. Check if a recruiter uses ethical recruiting standards by looking for the Alliance Certified Ethical Recruiter seal on their website.
The CGFNS VisaScreen®: Visa Credentials Assessment Service is a comprehensive screening service for healthcare professionals seeking an occupational visa to work in the United States. Applicants who successfully complete VisaScreen® receive an official ICHP Certificate for the VisaScreen®: Visa Credentials Assessment Service. This certificate satisfies the United States Federal screening requirements for a temporary or permanent occupational visa.
